The Artist

~ Kirsten Harrison ~
Manx born artist Kirsten Harrison, mother of two - has been producing art pieces of a wide variety in numerous mediums for over 20 years and is recognised worldwide for her intricate work and commissions.
Kirstens objective is to capture the finer detail in her pieces and especially the parts hidden by shadows, yet she still keeps the 3-D effect to an absolute maximum - her words are, ’it is important to me to allow the audience to “feel” the presence of the subject - as I do whilst creating these pieces’. And indeed - Kirsten does just this.
Kirstens latest work is focussed on motorbike art and she had already been approached by emeraldroadracing magazine Erin Thomas and Davy Hamilton, of which she featured in Issue 3. I know that Kirsten from this point had learned so much more about the motorbike race scene that it gave her strength and drive to do more on this subject. She says that when she is particularly drawing the leathers on the riders that she can almost feel the material - clearly in Kirstens work you can see her point. The mechanical side to the bike drawings are a challenge for Kirsten and she learns more each time, although numerous hours are put into each picture to ensure the bike components are correct.
We hope you enjoy Kirstens work, and suggestions for future pieces are always welcome!
Thank you for your interest.
